A helpful smart scale and attractively priced
This is review is of the ‘Etekcity Upgraded Smart Scale’. After having had a mechanical scale for many years, which seemed accurate enough but which had to be constantly reset to zero pounds, and which wasn’t easy to read for me, I got this one which is backlit and provides several nice functions besides keeping track of one’s weight over a period of time.The scale’s not perfect, but at this price point I think it’s a good investment. The app talks to my iPad perfectly once it connects by Bluetooth. You can track your weight progress, BMI, and body fat percentage, and access the data easily and also set goals. I think the weight calculation is pretty accurate and the BMI is a simple calculation which is probably also correct. The body fat percentage is a more complex calculation which relatively inexpensive scales and even more expensive scales may not get right.I think the important thing is that we can track our progress and give ourselves a motivational boost by using a scale like this. But I wouldn’t entirely rely on body fat measurements except that if the percentage gets better it’s probably a good thing. So, I’m happy to recommend this scale.** I write reviews to help people because others’ reviews have helped me. If you are inclined to write reviews, it’s most helpful if you’re specific about the product you’re reviewing, because sometimes several product reviews of a manufacturer get lumped together-which is less helpful.

Great scale! Easy set-up, and really motivating to see the your weight, BMI, and body fat all right on the screen. The data of your weigh-in goes way into detail on the app which is great, especially if you’re trying to understand your body more for fat loss or muscle growth.Cons:1) Bluetooth connectivity issues – The scale only connects to your phone when you’re actively on the scale. I’ve ran into issues where for whatever reason it didn’t connect and I find myself having to weigh-in multiple times to try to get it to connect. Does get a little frustrating cause the scale only stays on for so long before automatically shutting off.2) Slight inaccurate measurement (possibly?) – When I’m trying to connect the Bluetooth I weigh myself one right after another to keep it on. I noticed that even within a few seconds of each other sometimes the weigh-ins with have a + or – difference of around 0.3 sometimes, so it does make me question the accuracy of the scale. Just slightly though. Maybe it’s just a mental thing for me seeing my weight go from 117.8 to 118.1 within a few seconds.3) VeSync App Crash – To get my weight synced onto my phone, I have to have the app open and ready to connect before I step on. I’ve had my scale for about a week now, and have had 3 days where the app would crash as soon as I step onto the scale. I’d have to fix it by completely unsyncing the scale from the app and delete and redownload the VeSync app to reset it. Then after comes the frustration of trying to re-set up the scale to link with the account on my app instead of “User 1” on the scale so I can keep the data tracked with the history already on my app account. Kind of a nuisance and takes about 3-5 minutes to do.Overall I do love this scale and will continue to use it! Other than the app crashing and Bluetooth issues it does get the job done on its own right there on the scale.

Pretty Amazing at this price point
Amazing scale at this price point. It measures not only your weight but other biometrics, your body composition. The App is amazing it gives you insight into not just your weight but BMI, Protein, BMR, Subcutaneous Fat, etc. and offers recommendations on how to improve each area. It’s quite comprehensive.Compared to the price of the Hume scale this is a bargain. Is it 100% accurate? I can’t speak to it 100% but it’s better than my standard old scale.

Great Metrics-Easy to Set Up and Use
This scale worked very well right out of the box! Set up instructions were very easy to find. The app was easy to download and use with the scale. The app includes a User Manual and provides detailed information about each measurement, why it is important and provides diet and exercise advice for making positive changes to each metric. Customer support is very responsive, replying next day to an inquiry and a follow-up inquiry about my satisfaction with the scale.

Easy to read smart scale
Very clear display. Connects to the app with a little difficulty but having the app open first before stepping on the scale makes it way easier although sometimes I have to do it a couple times. Entries get logged in the app, along with the body fat, BMR, water, protein, etc. The display goes off after a few seconds after displaying weight, BMI, fat %, and muscle %, so it conserves batteries. Very easy to store in the bathroom, high quality components, and I believe the machine is accurate, so I recommend.

This scale, if it worked, would be a good scale. Unfortunately, about a week after I got it, it stopped measuring anything other than weight and BMI. I tried taking the batteries out and put back in and it would work for a day, but after a few days of having to take the batteries out and put back in again every day before using it, even that has stopped working as well. I have tried new batteries to no avail. This scale is now, a very expensive scale that only tells me my weight and BMI. I get the same thing from my older, much less expensive scale.Don’t waste your time or money on this. It’s a dud.
