Spendy, But High Quality Purchase
First the cons: 1) Very slow shipping directly from STEPR. Took over a week for them to ship it and another two to to get here. But, hey, it was free. 2) If you’re placing it anywhere but the garage, make sure you take note of the dimensions. I didn’t because I assumed any item of equipment designed for home use would be narrow enough to get through normal inside doors. It isn’t! 3) 45 minutes for assembly? Well, yeah, I guess… if three people who’ve assembled a dozen before yours are doing it. For the rest of us, allow 2 hours. 4) It goes together pretty easily and the supplied tool set is the best I’ve seen by far, but the instruction diagrams could be larger and there’s one section where the bolts are misnamed. 5) I realise the huge, ugly warning labels are likely government mandated to protect the profoundly stupid, but for those of us who aren’t, it’d be nice to use plastic labels, not paper, so they can be more easily removed.Pros? Lots of them: 1) The wheels and moving handles are a godsend. This thing is a beast, but, once tipped up, it’s way more manoeuvreable because of them. Awesome addition. 2) It’s as solid as a rock. Very well constructed and everything about it screams quality. 3) Operation couldn’t be simpler or more efficient. 4) Love the large lip under the console, which is perfect for holding a large tablet to watch videos while working out. 5) An incredible workout. I’m a speed walker, lap swimmer, and weight trainer, but nothing gets my heart rate up as quickly as this thing. Go faster for aerobic training, slower and longer strides for building strength. 6) Best customer service I’ve experienced. Very attentive, and rapid, patient responses.Overall, an excellent purchase. I’ve included a couple of pictures to show how well it can fit into a small home gym (after their tech support sent me instructions on how to remove the side covers so I could get it through the door). The moving handles and wheels make it possible to manoeuvre it into a very tight space. Other than a few minor gripes, I love this machine!
