This infared thermometer is used for measuring the temperature of the object’s surface, which is applicable for various hot or hard-to-reach objects without contact safely and quickly. This unit consist of optics, temperature sensor,signal amplifier, processing circuit and LCD Display. The optics collected the infrared energy emied by object and focus onto the sensor. Then the sensor translates the energy into an electricity signal. This signal will be turned out to be digital shown on the LCD after the signal amplifer and processing circuit.
Distance to Spot size12:1
When take measurement, pay attention to the Distance to Spot Size. As the Distance (D) from the target surface increases, the spot size (S) of the area measured by the unit becomes larger.The Distance to Spot size of the unit is 12:1 ***This unit is equipped with a laser, which is used for aiming.Field of view:Make sure the target is larger than the unit’s spot size. The smaller the target the closer measure distance. When accuracy is critical, make sure the target is at least twice as large as the spot size.
2. Emissivity 0.95 preset
Most organic materials and painted or oxidized surfaces have an emissivity of 0.95 (pre-set in the unit). Inaccurate readings will result from measuring shiny or polished metal surfaces. To compensate, cover the target surface with masking tape or flat black paint. Measure the tape or painted surface when the tape or painted reach the same temperature as the material underneath.

To avoid the potential situation may cause harm or damage to people, please pay attention to the following items:
1) Before you use this unit, check on the plastic housing carefully. If there is any damage, do not use it.
2) Do not point laser directly at eye or indirectly off reflective surfaces.
3) Do not use this unit in the environment of explosive gas, steam or dusty.

To avoid the damage of the unit or the target,please protect from the following situations:
1). EMF (electro-magnetic feids) from arc welders,induction heaters.
2). Thermal shock (caused by large or abrupt ambient temperature changes allow 30 minites for unit to stabilize before use.
3.Do not leave the uint on or near objects of high temperature.
(1) Trigger: When pull the trigger, LCD display reading with SCAN icon. Release the trigger, display reading with HOLD icon. Bullt-in 8 sec auto power off function.
(2) Laser on/off button.
(3) Celsius / Fahrenheit switch button.
(4) Back light on/off button: When backlight is on,any operations will activate the backlight.

Accurate, Easy to Use, and Incredible Value for Under $10
I picked this up to measure the exhaust temperature on my portable AC, and it’s been surprisingly accurate for such a low-cost tool. Readings change instantly when I move the laser from one surface to another, and it matched closely with my other thermometer. It handled the hot AC hose (around 90°F) just as well as cooler surfaces without lag.The LCD screen is bright and easy to read, even in low light thanks to the backlight. I like that it automatically holds the last reading when I release the trigger and shuts off on its own after a few seconds to save battery. It comes with AAA batteries in the box, so it’s ready to use right away.For the price, the value for money is excellent. It covers a huge range (-58℉ to 932℉), which means I can use it for way more than just my AC — like checking my grill, oven, or even insulation spots around the house. This digital thermometer fits nicely with restaurant equipment and refrigeration work where temperatures are crucial in the immediate surrounding and to meet safety rules and law standards in food serving establishments. The infrared gun is well-built, of a good size, and is very compliant within +- variances. Did I mention the price? Compared to the same piece bought through local supply houses this thermometer is basically A FRACTION OF THE COST. I am glad I purchased two of these. I see no need to have to replace again for several years if used properly, and practically zero drain on the batteries with a LED readout that is easy on the eyes and easy to read, saving me even more money overall. Six months in and still using the same batteries after nearly every day use. This is the real deal for HVAC/R work.

Simple to use, literally just point and shoot! Uses a red laser dot to guide to what you want to measure. Bought this to check exhaust manifold temperatures on a V6 sterndrive boat. Making sure water flowing through and both sides cooling evenly. Works perfectly.
