Not free weights, but it gives you a good at home workout – yes, you can feel the burn.
I like this kit. It is a nice, quick workout at home for around my home office. I use it mostly to do biceps, squats, chest and shoulders. The nice part is that it's really configurable and you just have to figure out where you can put the resistance against what. The bar itself screws together easily and has three areas where you can attach the bands. There are two straps that can be used to hook your feet into, or can also be used to wedge inside a door frame. Also there are a set of leg attachments and attachments for your hands. It comes with two each of a 45# band, 55# band and 65# band. Putting them together is literally a snap and moving from exercise to exercise is easy. They do have the failing that they are resistance bands and not steady weights, but this is meant to be an at home solution and you know you are doing resistance training, not real, in the gym, training with free weights. It's good for doing stuff when you don't have the time to get to the gym. Are you going to look like the guy in the pictures if you only use this? Of course not. Will it help you maintain and slightly build? Absolutely. I like it because it's an easy way to do something everyday at home and that's what I wanted – so it gets 4 stars. ************** VINE Notice ************************ Even though I have been given this product as part of a VINE review by Amazon, my reviews are honest and not influenced by receiving the product. Quite frankly, I could buy this if I wanted it, and I am doing these reviews for fun. I am a 65 year old guy and have appreciated the very clear and detailed reviews on Amazon. I started leaving my own and was selected to give these for products that I wanted to look into. But I will call a dog a dog. *************** Explanation of Rating System ************************* My rating system. 1 star – terrible. I wouldn't consider buying it. 2 stars – marginal at best. Doesn't meet the minimum requirements or quality to be useful. Buy it at your own risk. 3 stars – average. Meets the quality and requirements for a product of this type but is nothing out of the ordinary. If the price is good, I'd probably buy it. 4 stars – better than average. Exceeds the typical quality of a product of this type and has a few extra features not usually found on other products of this type. I'd buy it. 5 stars – exceptional – far exceeds the quality of products of this type. Hard to beat the quality and features included. Best value for the money. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

I would recommend this product—it’s exactly as advertised, well-built, and offers a solid full-body workout. However, I found that even the lowest weight setting was too heavy for me, which made it difficult to perform some of the exercises correctly.
I gave it four stars instead of five mainly because it lacks clear instructions. While there are some pictures included, there aren’t any step-by-step directions or suggested routines. As someone who relies on guidance when using new fitness equipment, I would have appreciated some basic workout plans or more detailed explanations of which attachments to use for specific exercises.

To preface, I don’t have the “real” weights to compare whether or not it is true to the resistance bands rating, but:
I purchased this item not to do Pilates, but as a replacement for buying more and more weights for adjustable dumbbells, taking up space which is limited for me. I also have a folding adjustable bench press.
I use this set for doing bench press, bicep curls, rows, shrugs, and it works. My main criticism is it does take some setup and messing with to ensure I actually feel all of the tension, at times making an “x” or standing wide stanced to do exercises, but I make it work.
Definitely beats having to purchase a bunch of weights and barbells!

a fitness high that lovers of the cage know-something super cool about that bar and the burn

Reviewed in Canada on June 25, 2025

Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What’s this? )

The media could not be loaded.

This squat bar is superbly convenient–a high-performance must for anyone who loves engaging in squats in a cage. This bar has three components that easily rotate into one another, fitting together snugly and firmly.
The material attached to the bar has three different rings on it, accommodating variable heights, allowing us to choose the ring best suited for our height. I like the middle ring for heavy bands.
The bands, which are more circular than bands, resemble stretchy rods, come in three different weights on each side: I'm using the 35 LBS (15.8 KG) and the 55 LBS (24.9 KG) on each side. This feels good at the lowest rung of the rings, but if I went to a higher ring to attach these rubber rods to, I'd go with a lighter weight.
(I'm 5 foot 4 inches and 126 pounds, and I train weights 3 or 4 times a week, stretch, do abs, perform martial arts, and swim twice a week for about an hour each day. Historically, I've tried out for a university varsity wrestling team. That's why the higher weights are challenging but doable on the lowest ring.)
There is a third weight that can be attached to both sides, with each one weighing 45 pounds (20.4 kg).
I doubled my weights, but you can triple them or even use a super long weight by attaching the clamps one by one as an alternative.
It comes with a door stop, so you can drape the door bulb over the top of the door and shut the door to keep it from sliding and then attach the bands that way.
It features two sturdy handles, two ankle straps, and two oval straps, providing us with numerous options for connecting our limbs and extremities to the handles or straps.
It's super sturdy, and it's fantastic to have a makeshift "cage" squat environment in my home.
I was so passionate about the cage that I would historically take two 45-pound weights and a bar and do squats in the cage, sometimes almost to my peril. However, these rubber weights and bars made it possible for me to get the same "burn" while not risking my physical well-being.
I'm thrilled about this bar for squats. But we can do many more exercises with it. With the door anchor, we can perform lat pulldowns, pulldowns, face pulls, and standing chest presses.
We can use the bar to perform exercises such as the bent-over fly, V-Ups, squats, wide-grip barbell over the head, glute kickbacks, and glute bridges.
With the resistance band handles, we can perform back flies, bent-over side raises, pulldowns, pull-throughs, shoulder presses, and reverse wood chops.
With ankle straps, we can perform abductions, leg lifts, standing kickbacks, hamstring curls, and hip flexor exercises.
As for me, I'm going to go gung-ho with the bar exercises, including the squats and all the others above, just because there is something super cool about that bar and the burn one gets when reaching failure. It's like a fitness high that lovers of the cage know so well.
I highly recommend this device. The instruction manual outlines all the exercises we need to achieve a fantastic workout in a compact space.
Wonderful bar squats! We feel it in all the right places!

A reasonably safe full-body workout that can be compactly stored

Reviewed in Canada on June 27, 2025

Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What’s this? )

This exercise equipment is sturdy and well-built, and easy to assemble. The straps and bar were able to withstand the pressure of all 6 straps attached at once during my tests.
    Advantages:
    – Safety. I can more easily push/pull to failure with these resistance bands since I don't have to worry about being crushed by a solid weight when fatigued.
    – Variety. The kit includes a workout book with many different exercises to obtain a full body workout.
    – Quick resistance changeovers. Switching up the bands is much faster and easier than switching plates.
    – Compact storage. The whole exercise kit can be stored in a relatively small box, whereas the I'd need an entire room to store the equivalent exercise machines and free weights required to do all the movements.
    Disadvantages:
    – Resistance varies based on stretch length. The greater the stretch, the higher the resistance. However, I found that I was limited in doing (for example) deep squats simply because the bands provided no tension at such a short length. For movements like back rows, I needed a certain minimal amount of workout space so that you could get sufficient stretch from the bands.
    – Resistance increments are large. I can't necessarily add small weight amounts, but must work out within the increments provided by the bands. Therefore, I'd say that this system is great for general fitness, but not precise enough to build strength systematically based on small gains.
    – Durability. Metal plates can easily outlive the life of the lifter, but I don't know how long these bands will last after repeated stretching. In addition, I tend to stretch the bands about three times their normal length at most. I likely won't stretch them longer than this length for fear of damaging the bands or shortening their operational life spans.
Therefore, an overall useful workout system with some inherent limitations.

I ordered this set to assist with my home physical therapy. I was looking for a really easy modality to use and help with strengthening exercises. I was also look for something that was easily stored. This set checked both of these boxes.
I like that you can get a decent total body workout from this set. The grips and the parts that touch your body are quite comfortable. The included booklet walks you through how to engage each muscle group in your body, without needing to leave your home. You can simulate popular exercises, like bench press and squats. I like that you can start at lower resistance and work your way up, much like traditional weight training.
I found these to be a safer alternative to going to the gym, and much more convenient. This may not suit the needs of others, however many of my boxes were checked.
This comes with many attachments and accessories to be able to target exercises to work on any muscle group. For me, I found this set to be exactly what I needed for the basic workout I do at home to recover from injury. I do see some limitations with this set and in time, I might out grow these limitations. However, for the meantime, I am able to work at my own pace and graduate upward in resistance like other workouts using weights.
I like the compactness and the quality of the construction of this kit. It does not take up plenty of room, but I do need to set it up every time I use the kit. I would recommend this set to others that are just getting back into training, starting Pilates, or those who simply want to train from the comfort of home.
    Recommended.

Excellent resistance bar kit that'll keep you fit without adding clutter

Reviewed in Canada on June 23, 2025

Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What’s this? )

I bought this resistance bar kit (I guess they call it a pilates bar kit) because it seems like a useful kit THAT DOES NOT ADD CLUTTER to my home. I'm in the decluttering mode because my kids have enough junk which leaves less space for my junk.
The kit came in a very plain box which didn't give me high hopes but once I opened the box, I was immediately impressed. The metal bar, which comes in 3 parts, is solid with great solid foam padding all around the bar, and is held together securely with fairly long threading.
There are 3 pairs of resistance bands which come in 35lb, 45lb, and 55lb resistances. I am about 30 minutes into trying out the 35lb resistance bands and I already know they're a bit light for me, but as I don't workout frequently (I play sports but don't hit the gym), the 35lb band is the perfect ice breaker.
The kit comes with a multitude of options with loops to attach to your feet or attachments to attach to your door. I am avoiding using my door because who hasn't damaged a door frame before with pullup bars lol.
The book has a bunch of exercises but I prefer to use youtube to find videos as I learn better that. The best search term for this would be, "resistance bar exercises."
The default strap that is attached to the bar has three D rings to adjust the length. While the 3 lengths are okay, it is a bit of a headache to adjust for each different exercise or for different people. I wish this had an adjustable strap instead of fixed D rings.
The bar and all the items seem high quality and do not have any type of smell at all. There is a black bag to carry all your extra pieces and bands to keep them stored safely. The bar is so small and unassuming that you can fit it in a corner and it'd be hidden.
This is an excellent and versatile resistance bar kit that will let you follow almost every youtube resistance bar video.

A lot of workouts in a portable package

Reviewed in Canada on July 15, 2025

Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What’s this? )

My son is very much into physical fitness and goes to the gym almost everyday. This summer he is working at an overnight camp and doesn't have access to a gym. So, he was very happy we were able to get this, for him to take up to the overnight camp. Before he left, he and I, put the HPYGN pilaates bar kit through its paces.
Note that my son is very critical and is usually is happy only with professional gym quality equipment. However, he does recognize that in a camp cabin, or a University dorm room (for his next 4 years), he will have to make some sacrifices.
Initially, I was a bit concerned about the strain the set might put on the door, but the door seemed to be fine. When my son takes this to camp, he will nail in some large nails in the wood walls to attach the "door straps".
In consideration of the portability of this kit, we both though we were able to get a good variety of workouts.
My son claimed he would have liked higher resistant weights (remember – he is a gym guy), but I thought there was more than enough resistant band weights for me, and I would have to believe more than enough for any average person.
This pilaates set obviously isn't a replacement for a 300 pound home gym that takes up 10X8 feet. That said, I can't fold my home gym set into a 18X10 inch box, and throw it in the closet.
The build of the HPYGN pilaates is high quality, designed with attention to detail. The bands have weight numbers on them. The materials seem high quality. The stitching is good. It feels like a high end set.
The HPYGN pilaate is a very good resistance band kit with a variety of workouts in a small portable package.

This exercise equipment is sturdy and well-built, and easy to assemble. The straps and bar were able to withstand the pressure of all 6 straps attached at once during my tests.Advantages:- Safety. I can more easily push/pull to failure with these resistance bands since I don’t have to worry about being crushed by a solid weight when fatigued.- Variety. The kit includes a workout book with many different exercises to obtain a full body workout.- Quick resistance changeovers. Switching up the bands is much faster and easier than switching plates.- Compact storage. The whole exercise kit can be stored in a relatively small box, whereas the I’d need an entire room to store the equivalent exercise machines and free weights required to do all the movements.Disadvantages:- Resistance varies based on stretch length. The greater the stretch, the higher the resistance. However, I found that I was limited in doing (for example) deep squats simply because the bands provided no tension at such a short length. For movements like back rows, I needed a certain minimal amount of workout space so that you could get sufficient stretch from the bands.- Resistance increments are large. I can’t necessarily add small weight amounts, but must work out within the increments provided by the bands. Therefore, I’d say that this system is great for general fitness, but not precise enough to build strength systematically based on small gains.- Durability. Metal plates can easily outlive the life of the lifter, but I don’t know how long these bands will last after repeated stretching. In addition, I tend to stretch the bands about three times their normal length at most. I likely won’t stretch them longer than this length for fear of damaging the bands or shortening their operational life spans. Therefore, an overall useful workout system with some inherent limitations.

5 out of 5 Stars (5)⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐[REVIEW UPDATES][TL;DR][QUALITY] (5/5)[VALUE] (5/5)[EASE OF USE] (5/5)[MET EXPECTATIONS] (5/5)[PACKAGING] (5/5)[REVIEW REMARKS]I ordered this set to assist with my home physical therapy. I was looking for a really easy modality to use and help with strengthening exercises. I was also look for something that was easily stored. This set checked both of these boxes.I like that you can get a decent total body workout from this set. The grips and the parts that touch your body are quite comfortable. The included booklet walks you through how to engage each muscle group in your body, without needing to leave your home. You can simulate popular exercises, like bench press and squats. I like that you can start at lower resistance and work your way up, much like traditional weight training.I found these to be a safer alternative to going to the gym, and much more convenient. However, for the meantime, I am able to work at my own pace and graduate upward in resistance like other workouts using weights.I like the compactness and the quality of the construction of this kit. It does not take up plenty of room, but I do need to set it up every time I use the kit. I would recommend this set to others that are just getting back into training, starting Pilates, or those who simply want to train from the comfort of home.Recommended.In the event that experiences change or evolve, updates may be made to this review to address such developments.

I bought this resistance bar kit (I guess they call it a pilates bar kit) because it seems like a useful kit THAT DOES NOT ADD CLUTTER to my home. I’m in the decluttering mode because my kids have enough junk which leaves less space for my junk. The kit came in a very plain box which didn’t give me high hopes but once I opened the box, I was immediately impressed. The metal bar, which comes in 3 parts, is solid with great solid foam padding all around the bar, and is held together securely with fairly long threading. There are 3 pairs of resistance bands which come in 35lb, 45lb, and 55lb resistances. I am about 30 minutes into trying out the 35lb resistance bands and I already know they’re a bit light for me, but as I don’t workout frequently (I play sports but don’t hit the gym), the 35lb band is the perfect ice breaker. The kit comes with a multitude of options with loops to attach to your feet or attachments to attach to your door. I am avoiding using my door because who hasn’t damaged a door frame before with pullup bars lol.The book has a bunch of exercises but I prefer to use youtube to find videos as I learn better that. The best search term for this would be, “resistance bar exercises.”The default strap that is attached to the bar has three D rings to adjust the length. The bar is so small and unassuming that you can fit it in a corner and it’d be hidden. This is an excellent and versatile resistance bar kit that will let you follow almost every youtube resistance bar video.

My son is very much into physical fitness and goes to the gym almost everyday. This summer he is working at an overnight camp and doesn’t have access to a gym. So, he was very happy we were able to get this, for him to take up to the overnight camp. Before he left, he and I, put the HPYGN pilaates bar kit through its paces.Note that my son is very critical and is usually is happy only with professional gym quality equipment. However, he does recognize that in a camp cabin, or a University dorm room (for his next 4 years), he will have to make some sacrifices.Initially, I was a bit concerned about the strain the set might put on the door, but the door seemed to be fine. When my son takes this to camp, he will nail in some large nails in the wood walls to attach the “door straps”.In consideration of the portability of this kit, we both though we were able to get a good variety of workouts. My son claimed he would have liked higher resistant weights (remember – he is a gym guy), but I thought there was more than enough resistant band weights for me, and I would have to believe more than enough for any average person. This pilaates set obviously isn’t a replacement for a 300 pound home gym that takes up 10X8 feet. That said, I can’t fold my home gym set into a 18X10 inch box, and throw it in the closet. The build of the HPYGN pilaates is high quality, designed with attention to detail. The bands have weight numbers on them. The materials seem high quality. The stitching is good. It feels like a high end set.The HPYGN pilaate is a very good resistance band kit with a variety of workouts in a small portable package.
