Plant-based Protein Powder with Healthy Ingredients
I think I eat very healthy but wanted to get a little more protein in my diet. After quite a bit of research, I chose this organic protein powder from company Purely Inspired. Per serving, it has 22 grams of plant-based protein (pea and brown rice), only 2 grams of sugar, and no sugar alcohols. It also has a probiotic, as well as a prebiotic (Inulin). It has relatively low sodium, a decent amount of fiber, and claims to have zero cholesterol, although the product contains coconut oil which does have cholesterol. The protein powder came in the mail today. I got the vanilla flavor because I figured it was more versatile than the chocolate. When you first open the jar, you will notice that the powder doesn’t come all the way to the top, maybe about 80% up. I used a long spoon to pull up the enclosed scoop, which was about half way down. After reading other reviews about the taste, I started off with just 1/2 scoop of powder. I added unsweetened almond milk and frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries) and blended it. It did blend nicely, with no clumps of powder. However, it was too thick, so I added water and blended again. When I drank it, I did notice the vanilla flavor, which tasted somewhat artificial. It certainly didn’t have an overwhelming taste, as mentioned in some of the reviews that I read. Next time, I’ll add some honey which I suspect will dampen the vanilla taste. I’ll also test with other sweeteners such as maple syrup (the real Vermont stuff) as well as carob.Because of its plant-based protein and healthy ingredients, I definitely will be purchasing this brand of protein powder again.Update: I recently tried the protein powder in the oatmeal I make every morning. The oatmeal contains frozen berries, raisins, coconut oil, pecans, and unsweetened almond milk. I added the protein powder and a little extra almond milk. It turned out great. I also tried it in pancakes today, again adding the protein powder and a little extra almond milk. Again, it tasted great. In both cases, there was no noticeable funky taste of the vanilla.

No weird taste or texture!!
am beyond impressed with this protein powder! It blends perfectly into everything: smoothies, coffee, oatmeal, yogurt. No clumps, no gritty texture, and it dissolves so smoothly even with just a shaker bottle. The best part? It has zero weird taste. No chalky aftertaste, no artificial sweetness. It literally disappears into whatever you mix it with. I love that I can add extra protein to my day without changing the flavor of my food or drinks. This has officially become a staple in my daily routine. If you want a protein powder that actually mixes well and doesn’t taste like protein powder, this is it! Highly recommend! 💪🏻

Taste is not great…. But still, it’s pretty wholesome
Okay, I’ve had several protein powders. I’m a nurse who works twelve hours shifts and I don’t really like eating at work, so I have two protein shakes per shift so I’m not running on empty. I’ve had the cheap, regular whey protein, vegan protein, protein and greens blends, sustained release protein, protein specifically for healthy gut flora… I could keep going. So, know that this review is one from a pretty experienced palate. This stuff tastes like crap. Sorry, not sorry. It’s pretty friggin’ gross. I mix it with water, a bit of flax/chia seed ground mix, a scoop of collagen peptides, and maybe a squirt of MCT oil. I use about 14oz of water and it’s still thicker than most shakes I’ve tried. It’s also not sweet in the least bit; they can save the 2g of sugar (which may be from the fruit in this protein blend) because it’s doing nothing for it; adding some stevia or monk fruit would make this go down a bit easier. It’s chalky and leaves a distinct lingering taste in your mouth and it makes your mouth feel a bit coated. I always have to chase it with gulps of water.Four stars, though, because I don’t care about taste much when it comes to protein. I see them as a supplement and not something to enjoy. This one is a pretty healthy meal replacement with some wholesome ingredients; plus it being plant-based may work great for sensitive tummies. I probably won’t be purchasing again unless it’s on sale, but the container is generous and I do feel it’s mostly worth its price. I’d recommend it if you are using it purely for its benefits and not for something to sit and enjoy sipping slowly.

Cookie Hack: Swap Some Flour for This Protein Powder!
I got this because I need more protein. I didn’t really like it as a shake. so I decided to take cookie recipe and replace some of the flower with this protein powder. It made the cookies taste great and stopped me from eating them all at once because it took a lot of the protein powder. The shake consistency was not as bad as I was thinking it would be. But it’s a little grainy. If you dissolve it, it’ll stay devolved until you let it sit in the fridge for a couple hours then it will settle to the bottom. 😒 At least it makes good cookies! 😀

TWO DIFFERENT PRODUCTS
Two very different products.First time I ordered, the product was in a clear container that said “New Look! Even Better Flavor!”. Could easily be stirred into water, plant milks, or coffee. Absolutely DIVINE flavor! Tasted like ice cream. By far the BEST protein product I have ever had. Could easily drink it everyday or even a couple times a day.Next time I ordered, it came in a white container (presumably the old formula). Didn’t blend as well–not the biggest deal. However, it tasted very off and artificial along with lacking any creamy texture. Struggled to get through the container and ended up giving some of it away.I have ordered the product several times and you never know which one you’re going to get. If you get the clear container, you’re in for a treat! If you get the white container, keep your expectations low. It’s a gamble which one you’re going to get. I’d like for this to be my protein supplement, but there’s no way of knowing if it will be the one I LOVE or the one I can tolerate.

I had high hopes for this protein powder, but the taste is gross and it doesn’t blend very well at all.
