I’ve used other sound machines in the past with digitally created white noise, and needed another machine for the bedroom.Having heard about this device and how it was commonly used in therapists’ offices to protect patient privacy/cultivate a calm environment for patients, I thought I’d give this very simple sound machine a try.I’m extremely impressed with how well this product works and how much of a difference this machine—which uses a motor operated fan to make noise—seems to be more effective at drowning out ambient sound and crowd out the typical anxiety stream in my brain so I can get sleep.The device’s foot print is relatively small, and has a simple on off switch with a twist mechanism that manually adjusts the volume or frequency the fan motor creates.Because the on/off switch is hard wired, the Dohm Uno can be used with an Alexa or other WiFi enabled plug to make it truly hands free without needing to reset settings.I’m happy I got this!

Every white noise app I’ve ever tried has a loop and I will eventually hear it, and then I ONLY hear it. This is good, old-fashioned mechanical sound and does an excellent job.

I saw this at a hotel I stayed. I had the best sleep, so I decided to purchase price was good. I received the very next morning. The sound is like a fan it blocks out noise. It’s absolutely a must for us we love it some much we purchased for our kids and friends.

Great tried, true and proven design…with a new weakness.
Perfectly Not So Perfect! Ordered it in a 120v 60hz version. I’m stationed in a place that uses that voltage and frequency in a controlled electrical environment. I’ve used this type for over 30 years in different environments. My new unit did the job “Perfectly”, drowning out the appropriate sounds so that I could sleep. It is a proven design that uses a perfectly designed housing, aluminum fan and a shaded pole motor…so it seemed. After two months of use, it gave up the ghost. I was speechless. I even checked out our power history to make sure the device got what it needed. It did. Knowing that I couldn’t send it back. (We only receive stuff and can’t send it back) I decided to do a root cause analysis and found the deficiency in the motor. Specifically the winding. (I used to design these shaded pole motors). I was also disappointed to find that the motor wasn’t 60/50 hertz rated. ( even though it could actually do so with about a 20% theoretically rotational speed loss.) Anyway, I digress. It could be that I just received a bad motor…but I’m more prone to believe that this isn’t the first time that they have heard of this problem. Common folks! Shaded pole motors aren’t that expensive. Could you come up with a dual voltageModel? It would make it a lot easier on us folks that rely on your product as we fix things around the world. Just a thought. Do I stillThink you have a great product? Yes! Could you improve on the QA of your tier one supplier? Absolutely. Sorry to give you a 1 star rating, but you’ve let me down…and I’m disappointed.

Are you tired of your roommates waking up at 5am and running the blender, waking you from sleep in the most aggressive way possible?COMPLAIN NO MORE!I conducted a lot of research on this little sound machine and it is such a great purchase. I love that it’s a real fan, because I’m not a fan of artificial white noise and the sound quality is great. It plugs in to the wall so no need for batteries, and it has a pretty discrete look (I purchased it in white).Noise blocking ranges from what i would call mild to sounding like you’re standing next to the ocean and is great for casual road noise, your roommate in the shared bathroom, and even conversation. 10/10 wish I had purchased sooner!

good, simple sound machine
This is a great white noise machine. I use it to help me sleep or else my tinnitus drives me crazy. It probably uses more energy than those machines that play audio, however there’s no seam. It’s a tad loud to keep next to the bed, so it’s on top of my dresser by the door. I love that it’s white, which is important to me. The switch is easy to click and durable. It’s easy to twist the top to change the tone a little. I haven’t taken a spectrogram of the tone, but it is probably closer to brown noise or pink noise. I love that it is simple and that there aren’t lots of unnecessary “bells and whistles.” I think the upgraded version has more flexibility in terms of volume and ability to change tone, but because you usually set and forget, I chose the basic one. I’m frugal and I am overall quite pleased with my purchase; however I wonder if a small fan would be better for me because I do like a breeze on my face while sleeping.

My Night Setup: White Noise + 670nm Deep Red Light (15-Minute Auto Off)
I’ve been using this white noise machine as part of my evening wind-down routine. What works especially well for me is combining steady mechanical white noise with very low-intensity deep red ambient light placed in a corner of the room. I keep the light brightness at its minimum setting and set it to auto-off after about 15 minutes. The combination creates a soft transition environment — gentle background sound plus warm, non-glaring light that gradually disappears after I fall asleep. The white noise itself is stable and consistent, and I like that it’s not digitally looped. It blends naturally into the room. For anyone building a calm nighttime setup, this machine works well as the sound foundation.

Just as good as my old one. Bought this as a replacement for my 10+ year old Original version in which the fan was starting to rattle. I hope to enjoy this new one for many more years! It perfectly drowns out background noises and helps me to sleep soundly. I even travel with it and it’s especially helpful in hotels!
