Great starting point
Great information for someone just starting out on a Keto diet. A basic food list is provided for items that are ok to eat, which is good to look back on as you journey through weight loss. I wish there were more recipes though.

Great place to start Keto!!
If you have ever had any questions about starting not only the Keto diet but the Keto lifestyle, this is the book for you! Uncomplicated, straightforward and a great place to start. The author walks the reader through every step of transitioning to a healthier way of eating with explanations that make sense. You even get a section on how to handle going out to eat. Yes, there are some specialty ingredients necessary to stay on track but the author’s recipes do not go overboard with their use. Most of what you need will probably already be in your pantry and fridge. It’s what we’re all looking for-tasty, easy and healthy. It’s never too late to to start eating healthy and this is the book to do it with.

Give Keto a try, what have you got to lose apart from weight?
ive always heard people talk about the “keto” diet but never really been sure exactly what it was. What an eye opener, must say i have been pleasantly surprised and am axtually contemplating doing keto to get rid of the belly and extra weight i have put on after the big “M” its been nice reading a book actually geared for women over 60 because they talk about things you have experienced and how to work on different parts of your body to get the results youre wanting and overtime you can be the person youve been wanting to be for such a long time. The recipes are also good, not sure about almond flour but im willing to give that a try, suppose you’ll only know how you feel and whether or not you like it once you’ve actually tried it, so here goes, wish me luck

Good basic start, doesn’t overdo the scientific terms
Interesting take on a specific diet plan. The book discusses what changes happen in the body when following a Keto diet plan, and what you could expect to feel like healthwise as your body adjusts to severely limiting carbs. There is an emphasis on the diet becoming more of a lifestyle, sort of a once you start, you’ll need to continue long term. The book includes a three meal a day plan for an entire year, which is something you don’t generally see; most diet books include at most two months worth of meal plans. It also encourages healthy gentle movement, and staying socially connected to friends and family, and includes tips on managing your eating plan while attending functions.The tone of this book is mostly conversational, with occasional scientific terms that are explained in context.

Looked forward to this book, but very very disappointed. The measurements are all in US, imperial and cups, whereas even though I’m senior, I’ve been using metric since I was junior! There was nothing to indicate that this as all US measures, cups. The food names obviously american too. Especially as it appears to have been printed in UK. Spent a while thinking I would do conversions, to metric, to find the imperial measurements were indeed conversions from metric which explained the ridiculous recommendations such as 0.7 to 1.76 ounces daily for carbohydrate consumption. The recipes don’t give serving, calorie count or more importantly carb count, or macros generally. Oven temps in F rather than C. The rather generic black and white illustrations appear just to be screen grabs from the internet, (they are referenced). Plenty of background information on ketogenic diets which wasn’t new to me so I wish I hadn’t bothered.
